Lead Diver Training

Authorized scientific divers with accrued scientific diving experience who wish to lead dive operations for marine education and research.

The course is approximately 24 hours total time, consisting of 4 sessions (2 Classroom & 2 Practical) plus 4-6 hours online eLearning.

Candidates must meet the following requirements to attend the course:

• Dive Qualification & Experience

Candidates must be an authorized, active scientific diver who has logged 100 open water dives in a variety of environments/techniques (50 must be scientific dives, of which 25 within KAUST).

The Lead Diver course is a CPD course broken up into 4 sessions to allow candidates to spread the training amongst their busy schedules. The course focuses on leadership, team management, safe planning and problem solving.

After successfully completing the course, each candidate will obtain the following qualifications:

• AAUS Lead Diver
• The Human Diver: Human Factors in Diving Essentials Certificate
