In Case Of An Emergency In KAUST Call

  • KAUST HSE is the owner of the AED program at KAUST.
  • The risk estimation is based on the combination of the likelihood of a person sustaining a cardiac arrest and the consequence suffered. While evaluating the risk level the consequence is always assumed to be the most severe. The only variable in the estimation of the risk is the likelihood which is based on the five factors stated above.
  • As per the American Heart Association the recommended ‘drop to shock time’ is set at 5 minutes.
  • An AED can service an area in its radius that is 2.5 minutes away.
