All KAUST faculty, staff, and students who work in labs with chemical, biological, radiological and/or physical hazards are required to attend the HSE Emergency Incident Preparedness Training, Laboratory Safety Training, and Hazardous Waste Training. This training must occur before any individuals are permitted to work in KAUST laboratories.
Additional safety training requirements may apply depending on the specific hazards being exposed to.
Our training program is governed by Environmental Training Procedure. The main purpose of this procedure is to provide a systematic method for ensuring the adequate environmental protection competency of KAUST and contractor personnel whose activities may result in significant environment impacts. This procedure also provides guidance to the concerned personnel to identify the training needs of personnel who will be involved in the implementation of the Environment Management System (EMS).
The Health & Safety Department is rolling out new training programs.
The goal of this program is to empower the KAUST Community by providing training and information on relevant Health & Safety issues that have the potential to not only affect us as individuals, but also the KAUST Community at large. Through this training we hope to make tools and information available to promote a safer and healthier community.
