KAUST Road Safety Awareness Week will take place from 26 to 30 April 2026.
Dear KAUST Community,
KAUST Road Safety Awareness Week will take place from 26 to 30 April 2026.
Road safety is a shared responsibility and a foundational part of the culture we strive to uphold at KAUST. During Road Safety Awareness Week, we pause to reaffirm our collective commitment to protecting one another, whether we are walking, cycling, driving, or travelling as passengers across campus.
KAUST is a vibrant, diverse community that brings together staff, faculty, students, families, contractors, and visitors from around the world. Each journey we take, no matter how routine, is an opportunity to demonstrate care, respect, and accountability for those around us. Safe choices on our roads directly reflect our values and our regard for one another’s wellbeing.
This week serves as a reminder that safety begins with everyday actions: staying attentive, following road safety rules, and looking out for the most vulnerable road users. We invite every member of the community to visit our dedicated Event Webpage to explore the full program of activities. Thank you for your continued commitment to Keeping KAUST Safe.

Associate Director, Health & Safety

Short, practical reminders delivered via the KAUSTCentral App. Follow along throughout the week to stay informed and engaged.
Take part in interactive activities throughout the week for a chance to win.
We recently replaced 76 road safety banners across the community. Each poster below has been allocated a number. Review the posters, select your top three, and cast your vote for first, second, and third prize. You are also welcome to share your ideas for future road safety messages. The first 20 participants to cast their vote will receive a prize.

The KAUST Community Pace Car Initiative, led by Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), is a voluntary, behavior-based program that promotes safe driving.
This initiative empowers community members to take an active role in improving road safety by driving at or below posted speed limits and setting a safe pace for others to follow. This is not an enforcement program. It is a community commitment to lead by example and contribute to safer roads.
We are excited to launch the Micromobility (E-Scooter) Safety Webpage as part of our commitment to safer mobility at KAUST. This resource brings together the Road Safety Code requirements for e-scooter use and provides practical guidance to support safe riding across campus. Whether you’re a regular rider or just getting started, it’s designed to help you make informed decisions, reduce risk, and contribute to a safer community for everyone.
HSE, in collaboration with TKS students and Security, has developed a new safety video. This initiative was supported by young members of our community who volunteered their time and effort to bring it to life. Participants will be recognized in an upcoming The Lens announcement.
All KAUST community members are invited to take part in the Virtual Pledge Wall and commit to upholding the KAUST Road Safety Code. This initiative encourages community members to take shared responsibility for creating a safer environment by practicing attentive and respectful road behavior. By signing the pledge, participants contribute to a collective culture of safety, care, and accountability across the KAUST community.
HSE, in collaboration with TKS, will deliver e-scooter and bike safety awareness sessions to promote safe behaviors among younger road users. There will be prize draws during the sessions!
