KAUST’s traffic and weather service on the campus app provides live updates—set notifications to get the latest info before you leave. University shuttle drivers adjust routes if severe rain is forecast; check the shuttle status before traveling.
Wet roads—especially near the Beacon and Research Park—mean vehicles need extra space. Observe posted speed reductions and remind visiting family or guests of local driving norms.
Fog and rain can obscure campus crosswalks and roundabouts; always use lights to be seen and keep yourself and cyclists safe.
Coastal sections can flood unpredictably. If unsure, use alternate routes highlighted in the KAUST transport app, or seek help from KAUST Security.
Recommended vehicle kits for KAUST include jumper cables, flashlight, rain poncho, portable tools, power bank, water bottle, and emergency contact card. Pick up ready-made kits at the KAUST Hardware Store.
Let’s keep campus commuters safe by sharing driving tips with new arrivals, looking out for children and cyclists, and staying informed.
