In KAUST, we are fortunate to have and enjoy various indoor and outdoor recreational facilities and activities. HSE supports recreation and marine activities at KAUST in partnership with our stakeholders. We ensure safe facilities by conducting risk assessments and through our inspection program.
All recreational pools in KAUST are staffed by qualified lifeguards and receive regular refreshment training to maintain their skill set. To Keep KAUST Safe, HSE further provides community members with guidelines on how to participate in various activities safely. HSE provides oversight and compliance assistance to regulate the general operational, safety, and public health requirements for all public pools at KAUST.
The guidance is provided in the KAUST Recreational Water Procedure, a set of fundamental principles about best practices in swimming pool water technical operation requirements that ensure continuous disinfection and filtration while creating a healthy swimming environment. Following HSE guidance allows pool staff and operators to provide an enjoyable swimming experience for all users and visitors.
