Persons leaving KAUST that worked in a laboratory will have to go through a departure clearance process. There is no requirement to do this process if you only worked in a office or computer lab space.
Contact HR or Graduate Affairs to start the process.
Fill the HSE departure form once HR started the departure process.
Arrange a date for a HSE visit to your work area.
HSE provides approval and confirmation in the HR system
You will need to contact graduate affairs to begin this process. HSE is not involved in this process and it is the laboratory’s responsibility to make sure that assigned areas have been cleaned and items have been properly disposed or transferred.
You will need to contact your Human Resources (HR) representative to begin the departure clearance process. Once started, HR will contact Research Safety Team who will then send you a checklist to fill out with your Laboratory Safety Representative (LSR) or Principal Investigator (PI).
You must contact the Research Safety Team (hse@kaust.edu.sa) at least one month before the departure date to inform that the laboratory will be vacated. You also need to contact your Human Resources representative to begin the departure clearance process as for staff and post-docs.
After HSE get the initial email from HR, a HSE representative will contact you to continue the process, fill the form and arrange a date for the visit to your work area.
Your laboratory will work with you to make sure that your laboratory areas are cleaned and items have been transferred or disposed appropriately.Since Research Safety is not involved, to help in this process, there is a departure clearance template available under forms and templates.
Once you have completed the departure clearance checklist, you will need to send it to Research Safety Team who will organize a visit with you and your Laboratory Safety Representative to confirm the items on the checklist.
